LOCAL SINGER/SONGWRITER FRONTS GAY MEN'S CHORUS OF HOUSTON
by: Mike Ator, Second Shadow Music (ASCAP)

Houston, TX -- Singer/songwriter Mike Ator performs his original song 'Angel Beside Me' with the Gay Men's Chorus of Houston at Jones Hall, June 21st at 7pm. Artistic Director of the chorus and Bayou City Performing Arts James Knapp commissioned Ator to arrange 'Angel' for a December debut. Based on its popularity among concert-goers, the piece is being re-introduced featuring the chorus and a gospel ensemble.

The June concert opens with Robert Seeley's stirring "Metamophosis," an eight-movement piece with chamber orchestra and a professional dance troupe. This is Seeley's third installment of the musical trilogy that includes "Naked Man" and "Exile," both performed previously by GMCH to ecstatic reviews. The second act features GMCH "hits" from 2007/08 and seasons past.

Ator is currently promoting his iTunes single "Happy" and its accompanying video to benefit OutYouth Austin's Lance Benjamin Memorial Scholarship Fund. His debut album is due out by the Fall of 2008. Ator will accompany GMCH to Miami for a repeat performance of this concert at GALA Festival VIII in July.
